PB&J Arepa Sandwich — A Gluten-Free Classic for Days on the Go
The most beloved sandwich in America, upgraded. PB&J between two gluten-free arepas travels better than bread, holds its shape, and needs no refrigeration for a few hours — perfect for car rides, sports practice, or anything in between.
Ingredients
- 2 Zavor & Co gluten-free arepas
- 3 tbsp peanut butter (or sunflower seed butter for nut-free)
- 2 tbsp strawberry jam or grape jelly
How to Make It
- Warm arepas in toaster or dry skillet 1–2 minutes.
- Spread peanut butter on one arepa.
- Spread jam on the other arepa.
- Press together gently.
- Wrap in parchment paper. Travels up to 3 hours without refrigeration.
Why It Works
Arepas don't go soggy the way bread does — the PB&J stays put and the arepa holds its structure even after an hour in a bag. Kids know this flavor, love this flavor, and will eat it without negotiation anywhere you go.
