What is an arepa?
An arepa is a traditional corn-based food enjoyed throughout Colombia. It is made from pre-cooked corn flour and can be served plain, topped, paired with meals, or used to create sandwiches.
Zavor arepas are soft inside, lightly toasted outside, and versatile enough for breakfast, snacks, lunches, and easy meals.
Are arepas the same as tortillas?
No. Tortillas are typically thin and flexible, while Colombian arepas are shaped differently, soft inside, and more substantial.
Arepas can be served plain, topped, paired with meals, or used in place of bread for breakfast, snacks, sandwiches, and easy meals.
Where do arepas come from?
Arepas have ancient Indigenous origins in the regions now known as Colombia and Venezuela.
In Colombia, they have remained an important part of everyday life for generations and are prepared in many different styles depending on the region and family tradition.
I first discovered arepas through an animated film set in Colombia. Is this the same food?

What does a Zavor arepa taste like?
Zavor arepas have a mild corn-and-cheese flavor, a soft and satisfying center, and lightly toasted edges.
They can be enjoyed on their own or paired with eggs, avocado, cheese, beans, chicken, vegetables, or your favorite toppings.

Are Zavor arepas really gluten-free?
Yes. Every Zavor & Co. arepa is made with naturally gluten-free ingredients and prepared in a dedicated gluten-free facility.
We use gluten-free pre-cooked corn flour from a reputable international food brand, along with water, cheese, real butter, and salt.
What ingredients are in Zavor arepas?
Our arepas are made with five simple ingredients: pre-cooked corn flour, water, mozzarella cheese, real butter, and salt.

Are Zavor arepas dairy-free or vegan?
No. Our current recipe includes mozzarella cheese and real butter, both of which are essential to the flavor and texture of our arepas. They are not dairy-free or vegan.

How many arepas are in a package?
Each package contains 10 frozen Zavor arepas.
Monthly subscriptions include:
- 20 arepas: two packages
- 30 arepas: three packages
- 40 arepas: four packages
Where do you deliver?
Zavor currently provides free local delivery to selected ZIP codes throughout the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.

How does local delivery work?
Free local delivery is included with every monthly subscription in our current delivery area.
Your frozen arepas are delivered once a month on your assigned Wednesday delivery route. You will receive your delivery schedule after subscribing.
What is the minimum order?
Our minimum monthly subscription is the Family Starter Pack, which includes 20 arepas for $32 per month.
Free local delivery is included in selected Lehigh Valley ZIP codes.
When will I receive my first delivery?
After checkout, you will be assigned a recurring delivery week—the first, second, third, or fourth Wednesday of each month.
Subscriptions must be active by Sunday at 5:00 p.m. ET to be included in that week’s Wednesday delivery. Orders placed after the cutoff will be scheduled for the next available delivery date.

What is included in the Family Favorites Pack subscription?
The Family Favorites Pack includes 30 frozen Zavor arepas delivered monthly.
It is our most popular option for households that want arepas available throughout the month for breakfasts, snacks, lunchboxes, sandwiches, and easy meals.

What is included in the Family Stock-Up Pack subscription?
The Family Stock-Up Pack includes 40 frozen Zavor arepas delivered monthly.
It offers the best value for households that want to keep a larger supply ready for busy weeks, brunch, lunches, sports, errands, and easy meals.
Free local delivery is included in selected Lehigh Valley ZIP codes, and you can cancel anytime.
What if I need more than 40 arepas per month?
We offer custom monthly subscriptions for quantities above 40 arepas.
Custom plans may be suitable for larger households, gatherings, offices, teams, or regular entertaining. Submit a custom subscription request, and we will follow up regarding quantity, pricing, and availability.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription anytime through your account, and there are no long-term contracts.
To avoid being charged or scheduled for the next delivery, cancel before the order cutoff shown in your account. Any order already processed may still be delivered.
Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?
Yes. If you need to skip a month, contact us before your next order cutoff and we can help pause your upcoming delivery.
Requests made after an order has already been processed may apply to the following month.
Storage & Preparation
How do I heat the arepas?
Toaster: Place one arepa directly into the toaster and toast on high until the toaster pops. Repeat for 2–3 cycles, or until heated through and lightly toasted.
Air fryer: Heat for 3–5 minutes, or until heated through and lightly toasted.
Heating times may vary by appliance.
How long do arepas last in the freezer?
Keep Zavor arepas frozen in their original sealed packaging and enjoy them by the best-if-used-by date printed on the package.
Can I take arepas on the go?
Yes. Heat your arepa, add your favorite topping or filling, and wrap it in foil or parchment for work, school, errands, sports, or travel.
For best quality and food safety, enjoy it within two hours. If you need to hold it longer, use an insulated container.
What can I eat with arepas?
Zavor arepas pair well with eggs, cheese, butter, avocado, turkey, chicken, tuna salad, black beans, vegetables, smoked salmon, or pizza-style toppings.
Enjoy them on their own, top them, pair them with a meal, or use two arepas to make a sandwich.
