Cream Cheese and Ham Arepa Sandwich — Simple Gluten-Free Lunchbox
Smooth cream cheese and deli ham between two arepas — a two-minute lunchbox sandwich that travels perfectly and kids genuinely look forward to opening.
Ingredients
- 2 Zavor & Co gluten-free arepas
- 3 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 slices deli ham
- 4–5 thin cucumber slices (optional)
How to Make It
- Toast arepas until warm, then let cool slightly.
- Spread cream cheese generously on one side of each arepa.
- Layer ham slices on one arepa. Add cucumber slices if using.
- Press the second arepa on top to form a sandwich.
- Wrap in parchment and pack — stays fresh and holds shape until lunch.
Why It Works
Cream cheese is one of the best spreads for a lunchbox sandwich — it does not make the arepa soggy the way mayo can. Combined with deli ham, this is a sandwich that kids eat completely and parents feel good about packing.
