Almond Butter, Apple and Honey Arepa Sandwich — A Sweet Portable Snack for Active Days
All the satisfaction of a sweet snack, none of the mess. Almond butter, apple, and honey between two arepas is the portable option that keeps kids and parents fueled through long activity days — no utensils, no crumbles, just grab and go.
Ingredients
- 2 Zavor & Co gluten-free arepas
- 3 tbsp almond butter (or sunflower seed butter for nut-free)
- ½ apple, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp honey
- Pinch of cinnamon
How to Make It
- Warm arepas in toaster or dry skillet 1–2 minutes.
- Spread almond butter on both arepas.
- Lay apple slices on one arepa.
- Drizzle honey and dust cinnamon over apple slices.
- Press second arepa on top. Wrap in parchment. Travels well for 2–3 hours.
Why It Works
Two arepas hold the apple slices in place — no sliding, no mess in the car or bag. The almond butter and honey prevent the apple from browning. This is the portable snack that actually holds together and satisfies both kids and adults on long activity days.
