Tuna Salad Arepa — Easy Gluten-Free Lunch for Kids and Adults
Classic tuna salad on a warm arepa — a high-protein lunchbox staple ready in five minutes from pantry ingredients. Pack the tuna salad in a small container on the side and assemble at lunch to keep everything fresh.
Ingredients
- 2 Zavor & Co gluten-free arepas
- 1 can (5 oz) tuna in water, drained
- 2 tbsp mayo
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
How to Make It
- Drain tuna thoroughly and add to a bowl.
- Mix in mayo, chopped celery, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Toast arepas until warm and golden.
- Spoon tuna salad over each arepa.
- Pack arepa and tuna salad separately if making ahead — assemble at lunchtime.
Why It Works
Tuna salad is one of the most reliably satisfying lunchbox options — protein-rich, filling, and easy to make from cans you already have. On an arepa instead of bread, it is naturally gluten-free and the firmer base means it holds up better through the morning.
