Pepperoni slices and melted mozzarella cheese on a warm gluten-free Colombian arepa with marinara

Pepperoni and Mozzarella Arepa — Pizza Lunchbox for Gluten-Free Kids

June 12, 2026

Pepperoni and melted mozzarella on a warm arepa with a spoonful of marinara — all the pizza flavors kids love, naturally gluten-free and lunchbox-ready in five minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 Zavor & Co gluten-free arepas
  • 2 tbsp marinara sauce
  • 2 oz shredded mozzarella
  • 10–12 slices mini pepperoni
  • Pinch of dried oregano

How to Make It

  1. Toast arepas until warm and golden.
  2. Spread marinara sauce over each arepa.
  3. Top with shredded mozzarella.
  4. Arrange pepperoni slices over the cheese.
  5. Warm in a pan or toaster oven 2–3 minutes until cheese melts. Dust with oregano and pack.

Why It Works

Pizza arepa is one of the easiest ways to get a gluten-free kid excited about their lunchbox. The flavors are completely familiar, the arepa is a better base than any gluten-free pizza crust, and it travels well wrapped in foil or parchment — warm or room temperature.
