Category: On-the-Go  |  Ready in 15 minutes  |  Serves 1 adult or 2 kids  |  Naturally gluten-free

What You Need

  • 2 Zavor & Co gluten-free arepas
  • 1 breaded gluten-free chicken cutlet (or 1 cup shredded cooked chicken)
  • 1/3 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 oz mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 tbsp grated parmesan

How to Make It

  1. Warm the chicken with a light coat of marinara.
  2. Warm the arepas in the toaster on high, 2-3 cycles.
  3. Pile the chicken and sauce on one arepa, top with mozzarella and parmesan.
  4. Close and press in a dry pan until the cheese melts, 3-4 minutes.
  5. Wrap in paper; keep the sauce light so it doesn't drip.

About This Recipe

Chicken parm — breaded cutlet, red sauce, melted cheese — is Italian-American diner food, usually a knife-and-fork plate or a messy sub. Pressed between arepas with a light hand on the sauce, it's a handheld you can actually carry. Use a gluten-free breaded cutlet.
