Category: Simple Meals  |  Ready in 20 minutes  |  Serves 1 adult or 2 kids  |  Naturally gluten-free

What You Need

  • 2 Zavor & Co gluten-free arepas
  • 2 chicken thighs, cut into pieces
  • 1 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp sour cream

How to Make It

  1. Soften the onion in a splash of oil, 4 minutes.
  2. Stir in the paprika, then the chicken and broth; simmer until the chicken is tender, 12 minutes.
  3. Off the heat, stir in the sour cream (do not boil).
  4. Warm the arepas in the toaster on high, 2-3 cycles.
  5. Spoon the paprikash over each arepa.

About This Recipe

Chicken paprikash is Hungary's national comfort food — chicken stewed in a velvety sauce of sweet paprika and sour cream. Stirring the sour cream in off the heat keeps it from curdling.
